I asked you about your favorite books on Twitter recently, and got more responses than I anticipated.
About 955, as it turns out.
Here are the books that were mentioned most often (including quite a few that surprised me.)
- The Phantom Tollbooth
- East of Eden & Grapes of Wrath
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- House of Leaves
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
- Watership Down
- Dandelion Wine
- Orlando
- Catch 22
- Boy’s Life
- The Count of Monte Christo
- 1984
- Dune
- All the Light We Cannot See
- Blood Meridian & All The Pretty Horses
- The Hobbit
- A Wrinkle in Time
- Where the Red Fern Grows
I’ve read about half of those, which I guess is not bad. It means I have some good reading ahead of me.
The one most people mentioned was The Phantom Tollbooth. I’ve never read it and have only heard it mentioned a few times so it’s popularity really surprised me.

Any of your favorites on there?
