It’s been almost eight years since I read House of Leaves and I still haven’t decided whether I liked it or not. Or if I want to reread it or not.

It’s an excellent book, but the footnotes get tedious after a while. But it is a great approach to the somewhat cliche haunted house story. Manages to be creepy because it takes the “documentary” approach.

But yeah… I don’t think it lends itself well to re-reads.

It really is. Clever formatting like that is only for a few pages out of about 700, but it fits well into the story, and makes the book quite unique.

I’ve seen the book mentioned many times. It’s supposed to be a mind-bender, right? I’ve been meaning to check it out.
